Position: System Director, Education and Practice
Location: Remote (with up to 50% travel required)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as the System Director, Education and Practice. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and integrating professional practice competencies into our virtual nursing roles and for all new hires. You will guide the direction for professional practice, research, and Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) across our health system, divisions, and local organizations for virtual care models. This role requires a focus on evidence-based and research-driven design and implementation of new care models.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaboration and Implementation: Work closely with clinical and nursing leadership to develop, implement, and evaluate professional and evidence-based practice across the organization.
Strategic Development: Create and execute the strategic direction for virtually integrated care models, ensuring alignment with the Nursing Strategic Plan and organizational goals.
Curriculum Design: Develop and design training curriculums for virtually integrated care resources, collaborating with education leaders on evaluations and performance criteria in compliance with federal and state guidelines.
Advocacy and Partnership: Advocate for professional nursing practice through partnerships with inter-professional staff, academic institutions, and professional organizations.
Support and Certification: Provide support for Virtually Integrated Care models to achieve and maintain ANCC Magnet® or Pathway to Excellence® status.
Education and Mentorship: Develop innovative programs to educate, mentor, and enhance knowledge of evidence-based practices.
Clinical Competencies: Ensure clinical competencies for all functional clinicians supporting new models of care.
Legislation Expertise: Provide expertise in state nursing boards and licensure legislation impacting new models and clinical practices.
National Alignment: Align with national experts and system leaders on desired models and practice standards.
Quality Improvement: Support strategies to improve care quality, linking EBP and research to better patient outcomes, operational efficiencies, and clinician well-being.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
Master's degree in nursing or related fields (e.g., MSN, MBA, MHA) required.
Doctorate in nursing (DNP, PhD) preferred. If the master's degree is not in nursing, a baccalaureate or doctorate in nursing is required.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of nursing experience, with at least 5 years in a nursing leadership role.
Experience in a multi-hospital system preferred.
Demonstrated experience with evidence-based practice models and new model design.
Magnet or TCAB experience and change management expertise preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Expertise in grant writing and research design.
Proficient in Kotter's Change Management principles.
Strong project management skills with a focus on clinical improvement outcomes.
Comprehensive knowledge of industry regulations and competencies.
Excellent customer service, communication, and presentation skills.
Advanced research and analytical skills.
Strong collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient with Google Suite and/or MS Office applications.

Licensure and Certifications:
Registered Nursing License (RN) in the state of practice, with multi-state licensure required in some divisions.
