We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure and Server Administrator to join our team in Los Angeles, California. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and security of servers in colocation facilities. Your expertise in managing server performance, network devices, and cybersecurity will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and availability of our IT infrastructure.
Requirements RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: --Install, configure, and maintain servers in colocation facilities in the Los Angeles area.
--Provide service and support for the servers onsite.
--Set up, install, configure and administer servers to allow others to securely connect to them-- Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues.
--Ensure server security through regular updates and patch management.
--Configure and manage network devices, such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
--Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
--Set up and maintain virtual private networks (VPNs)
--Implement data backup strategies and schedules.
--Develop and test disaster recovery plans.
--Restore data in the event of data loss or system failures
--Maintain and troubleshoot hardware components like CPUs, RAM, hard drives, and peripherals.
--Replace or upgrade hardware as needed.
--Provide technical support to end-users and other IT staff.
--Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
--Assist with IT-related inquiries and problems.
--Ensure systems and procedures comply with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
--Keep up to date with compliance requirements and implement necessary changes.
--Monitor resource usage (CPU, RAM, storage) and plan for capacity upgrades as necessary.
--Ensure systems can handle future growth in demand.
--Collaborate with other IT teams and departments.
--Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: --MUST be located in Los Angeles, California
--Understanding of various operating systems (Linux), server hardware, and networking technologies.
--Having Federal clearance (a plus)
--Demonstrated expert level
--Relevant certifications
--Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell is essential for automating tasks and configuring systems.
--Knowledge of network protocols, configurations, and troubleshooting is crucial. This includes TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and routing.
--Must have a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, including threat detection, prevention, and incident response.
--Proficiency with monitoring tools and the ability to set up alerts to detect and address system issues.
--Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently.
