SVP Human Resources Location Newton, MA (Newton Upper Falls area) : Position Summary Strategically plans for the human resources needs of the bank including talent acquisition, organization development, DE&I, employee engagement, talent management, L&D and career development for the purpose of meeting the Bank's mission, goals and objectives. Directs, implements, and oversees human resources policies and activities including talent acquisition, compensation, payroll, benefits, training, employee relations, performance management and communications.
Responsibilities Supports and advises the Management Team on all employment matters including staffing, compensation, employee engagement, performance management and training in order to support the strategic plans, missions, profitability and growth of the Bank.
Develops and implements human resources policies to meet organizational needs and comply with state and federal laws.
Develops programs for and oversees management of human resources activities such as workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, payroll, benefits, employee relations and unemployment issues.
Manages overall compensation program; developing a strategy to maintain competitive advantages for recruitment and retention. Updates and reviews compensation program on an annual basis.
Oversees and manages the Bank's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.
Manages the administration of all group benefit plans, evaluating cost effectiveness, negotiating contracts with carriers and vendors or outside administrators. Oversees day to day functionality of all benefit programs.
Directs human resource and benefit communications through the Bank's intranet or other means to ensure all employees have access to pertinent information regarding their pay, benefits and other disclosures
Manages the payroll function. Ensures record keeping and reporting requirements are accurate, timely and comply with record retention laws and regulations.
Directs the development and maintenance of human resources information systems to improve the efficiency of the human resources department.
Manages the bank's talent acquisition and talent management programs. Recruits and consults with hiring managers for placement, promotion or transfer of staff. Manages the bank's succession and career development plans for key positions, in collaboration with the Management Team.
Oversees and ensures compliance with all Federal and State regulatory leave and equal opportunity laws, (including, but not limited to FMLA, PLA, ADA, ACA, Affirmative Action, EEOC, OFCP, Title VII, and COBRA)
Oversee the Learning and Development department including: new hire on-boarding, Teller and platform training, compliance training, skill assessments and requisite remedial training as well as soft skills training and development. Oversees the management of the Supervisor Training Program, Mentor Program, shadowing opportunities and Management Training Program.
Manages the bank's annual employee engagement survey: analyzes results and recommends action plans and programs to enhance the bank's culture and further engage, develop and retain talent.
Attends regularly scheduled meetings with staff to exchange information and provide ongoing support and problem resolution.
Evaluates and advises on the impact of long range planning of new programs/ services and regulatory actions as they impact the human resources of the Bank.
Analyzes trends at each location in turnover, hiring, promotions, separations, and grievances to determine support or action needed to adjust unfavorable trends.
Consults with outside legal counsel when necessary.
Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
Serves as the Bank's Sexual Harassment, Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Officer.
Performs duties of the S.A.F.E. Act Officer to ensure all mortgage loan originators are properly registered and oversee annual training for the Act.
Develops human resources budget and reviews status on regular basis.
Participates on management committees as requested.
Actively participates in community programs/ events to promote customer and community awareness of the bank.

Experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent; ten plus years related human resources management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional designation SHRM-SCP desired.

Dependability - Consistently produces a great quality work product. Is accurate and timely. Meets established deadlines. Maintains a positive attendance record by being punctual and reliable.
