The Finance Accounting Group Manager is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas within Corporate Functions Controllers including Corporate Insurance & Risk Management. Leads and directs a small team. Excellent communication skills required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication will be necessary including oversight of third-party captive insurance managers. Involved in short-to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area. Full responsibility for insurance group financials, planning/budgeting, supervision of team and communication with numerous key stakeholders.Responsibilities:Supports the management and control data flows to and within Finance applications to ensure integrity and completeness of data, including by preparing and recording financial transactions for legal vehicle and regulatory reporting purposes, updating the general ledger, recording financial transactions, and preparing of consolidated financial statements, in accordance with management reporting requirements, for legal vehicle & regulatory purposes. Also, includes specialized insurance accounting, expense accounting and investment accounting as well as general controllership responsibilities.Ensuring that financial controls are identified and in place for all key processes and that any control weaknesses/issues are appropriately addressed and escalated with a remediation plan defined.Understand the impact of new requirements and comply with new control requirements.Establish consistent processes and a strong control environment, review procedures, MCA assessments, and review ARA on annual basis with key stakeholders.Ensure general controls which are not finance division specific, but applicable to entire finance are coordinated and reviewed on regular basis (e.g. Entitlement Reviews, Continuity of Business, Intercompany Service Agreements, End User Computing applications). Additional responsibilities will include other controllership responsibilities within Corporate Functions Controllers, such as responding to accounting questions and inquiries, any required policy changes, identifying opportunities and leading transformation projects, driving process and control standardization, and the development of improved processes and controls.Qualifications:Excellent team leadership and partnership skills: ability to work with and influence senior management across multiple levels of the organization.Excellent communication skills, including writing and presentation.
