Responsibilities
• Supervise and coordinate daily operations of surgical suites and provide leadership in assigned service line(s).• Ensure implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care.• Supervise operating room (OR) operations and serve as an expert for the assigned specialty or service line(s).• Ensure proper communications occur with the OR and other units.• Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services for the assigned service line(s).• Oversee processes and procedures to guarantee efficient, effective and safe delivery of health services.• Work collaboratively with physicians, leadership and staff to develop and implement streamlined operations where equipment, supplies and staff are utilized efficiently and resourcefully.• Maintain clinical competency and may serve as a front-line staff member as needed.• Provide input for hiring, training, directing, development and evaluating of staff.
Requirements
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.• One or more of the following required: Certified Registered Nurse specializing in First Assistant credentialed from the National Assistant at Surgery Certification obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.• Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.• Surgical Assistant credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Associates who hired/transferred before 04/30/2018 are not required to hold certification.• Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Per Tennessee Code (TCA) 68-57-101(a), non-certified applicants must have 18 months of surgical technologist experience in the 3 years preceding 5/21/07; or began the appropriate surgical technologist training prior to 5/21/07 and completed by 5/21/10.• Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
