Surgical Scheduler

Our practice is looking for a detail oriented SURGICAL SCHEDULER. This person must have some medical office experience. Previous surgical scheduling experience would be preferred but we are willing to work with the right person! There will be a training period but we hope to hire someone with at least some general insurance knowledge- Knowledge of navigating through Availity and other insurance portals would be a huge plus! This position is located in Ocala but there may be some training days in our Villages office just to get you started. This position requires someone with focus and attention to detail with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. They will be responsible for scheduling outpatient procedures, verifying & obtaining insurance authorizations when needed as well as sending off requests for surgical clearances when required. Below is a list of responsibilities however please understand that there may be other tasks that arise during the scheduling process that you will be required to complete.
Responsibilities:
-Complete surgical packets with the required supporting documents
- Answer and manage voicemail on the surgical phone
- Maintain the surgical calendar with any updates as they arise
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations when required
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and assure each patient understands date/location of procedure as well as pre-op instructions.
- Assist with surgical administrative tasks when needed, such as filing, data entry, and scanning documents
Skills:
- Previous experience in a medical office is required
- Understanding of medical insurance is preferred but not a deal breaker
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is a must!!!!
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
