A facility in Cooperstown, NY is looking for a Med Surg Registered Nurse (RN) with incidental telemetry monitoring. Must have Surgical, Ortho, General and Bariatric surgery experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Travel experience preferred. Travelers cannot be residents of Otsego county. Caregivers are expected to make up any missed shifts within same pay period or following pay period, with the exception of mandated medical quarantine or at managers discretion. Two or more missed shifts will result in termination.
ASSIGNMENT DETAILS:

QUALIFICATIONS:
* At least 2 years of recent & relevant experience as an
RN
* Basic Life Support (BLS)
*Caregivers will be visiting patients home
*Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Med Surg
* Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in consultation with healthcare professionals.
* Evaluating medical information, as well as providing direct and individualized bedside nursing care to pre-and post-surgery patients.
* Preparing, administering and recording prescribed medications.
* Changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs.
* Adjusting specialized medical equipment as needed, as well as interpreting and recording measurements.
* Monitoring patients' vitals and reporting adverse reactions to medications in a timely manner.
* Collaborating on discharge planning with the healthcare team.
* Answering questions and educating patients and their families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care.
* Maintaining and updating patient files, medical charts, and health records.
* Adhering to best nursing practices, standards, and protocols.
Telemetry
* Studying patients' medical history, test results, and treatment plans.
* Tracking routine heart rate, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry measurements.
* Monitoring, interpreting, and recording data from specialized medical technologies and equipment.
* Administering medication and performing treatment interventions in consultation with healthcare specialists.
* Maintaining and updating ward charts, patient files, and medical records.
* Instructing Telemetry Unit staff on patient care and treatment plans.
* Collaborating with healthcare specialists and reporting changes and deteriorating conditions.
* Explaining tests results and procedures to patients and their families, as well as answering questions.
* Advising patients on post-hospital care, including prescribed medicine, home care protocols, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes.
RATES:
Travel Rate | Hourly Rate: $ 30.00
Weekly Taxed Pay $ 1,080
Weekly Stipend $ 1,162.00
Completion Bonus $ 500.00
Weekly gross pay before taxes $ 2,242.00
Local Rate | Hourly Rate: $ 64.00
Weekly gross pay before taxes $ 2,304.00
