Quantum Pain and Orthopedics is hiring for a full-time Surgical Coordinator for our North San Antonio clinic . The Surgical Coordinator is responsible for checking-out patients and understanding patient needs to successfully organize and schedule procedures/surgeries per the provider's orders. The Surgery Coordinator must be able to respond to both written and oral correspondence regarding scheduling changes/cancellations in a timely, accurate manner. Individual must be organized and be able to manage demanding workload with accuracy
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Communicates with all appropriate parties regarding patient and surgery Follows-up and ensures all documentation is obtained Verifies if all authorizations have been obtained prior to scheduling surgery Schedules and/or reschedules patient follow-ups and surgery Coordinates transportation for our procedure patients, if needed Inform and provide patient with necessary information and instructions prior to surgery date Follows-up on all Canceled or No-Show Patients Sends prescriptions to pharmacy via fax or e-mail Move patients through appointments as scheduled Answer telephone and deal with inquiries Update patients' information into database Scans and files into patient docs on eCW Manage filing and record keeping activities Updates daily log for all patients' office visits Updates daily log of all patients who have confirmed surgeries Submits information to verification department for pre-authorization KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and eCW Strong attention to detail: being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks Ability to work independently by guiding oneself with little or no supervision and depending one oneself to get things done Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School diploma; some college preferred 1 year of experience in a medical office setting Able to travel between various locations if needed BENEFITS OFFERED: 3 Medical Plans 2 Dental Plans 1 Vision Plan Employee Assistance Program Short and Long-Term Disability Insurance Basic and Voluntary Life with AD&D Plan 401(k) with a 2-year vesting PTO + Holidays WORK WEEK SCHEDULE: Monday/Thursday 8:00 AM- 6:00 PM Tuesday/Wednesday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Friday: 8:00 AM-3:00 PM Please visit our website for more information: Compensation to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
