Responsibilities
• Schedules inpatient and outpatient surgical appointment times using computerized scheduling programs.• Coordinates with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure availability of facilities, surgeon, staff and equipment.• Communicates with patients and/or their families to provide necessary pre-procedure instructions and to confirm appointments.• Performs insurance verification and/or pre-authorizations as necessary.• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements
• High School diploma or GED required.• Relevant life support certification as determined at position level.• No experience required.
