Job Title: Supply Chain Manager (Capital Equipment Sourcing) Job Summary:
As a pivotal component of our manufacturing operations, the Supply Chain Manager (Capital Equipment Sourcing) will spearhead our sourcing strategies, focusing on the procurement of larger capital equipment ranging from $50K to $150K. This role demands a strategic thinker who can manage and optimize our supply chain operations, including planning, scheduling, and procurement, to support production efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, with specific expertise in sourcing significant capital investments and an ability to navigate the complexities of local and global supply markets. Duties/Responsibilities:Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for capital equipment, ensuring alignment with production requirements and financial objectives.Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from supplier selection and negotiation to contract management and post-purchase support.Evaluate and source local and international suppliers, considering factors such as cost, quality, lead times, and reliability.Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to understand equipment specifications and operational needs.Oversee the Buyer/Planner and Materials Manager roles, ensuring efficient material planning, inventory control, and procurement activities.Conduct market analysis to stay informed about industry trends, potential supply risks, and emerging opportunities.Optimize supply chain processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance supplier performance. Required Skills/Abilities:Proven ability to strategize and manage the procurement of large capital equipment.Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems.Ability to analyze market trends and make data-driven sourcing decisions.Excellent organizational skills, with an aptitude for planning and prioritization.Effective communication and collaboration skills, capable of working with cross-functional teams.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.5-10 years of experience in supply chain management, specifically in the procurement of capital equipment for manufacturing operations.Preferred Education and Experience:Advanced degree in Supply Chain Management or Business.Experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on capital equipment sourcing.Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and practices.Leadership or supervisory experience, though not required, would be advantageous.
