Summary The Supply Chain Manger is responsible to create and implement all strategic procurement, production planning, and scheduling processes and procedures for the company. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining professional, highly effective relationships with international and domestic suppliers as well as internal customers. In addition, the Supply Chain Manager ensures compliance with all company purchasing and ethics policies as they relate to the procurement of materials in behalf of the company. Finally, this position routinely creates and analyzes supplier performance metrics such as purchase price variance, on-time delivery, and supplier quality performance.
Essential Functions Create and execute strategic sourcing plans, policies, and documents for key commodities in alignment with the strategic initiatives of the company. Communicate effectively and professionally with all other departments within the company. Lead supplier cost reduction and quality improvement programs. Create and manage written supplier contracts. Supervise financial audit and physical inventory activities when required. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain. Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of quality and delivery factors affecting the supply chain. Meet routinely with internal and external suppliers to resolve gaps. Lead supply chain team coordinating engineering changes, product line extension, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions. Provide information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and materials. Identify and qualify new suppliers in collaboration with other departments. Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy. Develop and maintain safety stock levels and forecast of materials and supplies located at the company and at supplier sites. Analyze current inventories and procedures; suggest improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain. Develop policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes. Conducts personnel performance evaluations that are timely and constructive. Supplemental Duties Provide Disaster preparedness and Emergency Procedures. Create and follow ISO type process instructions and procedures. Actively enforce company safety policies and procedures Initiate Corrective Action plans and documentation when required. Provide subject matter expertise for software implementations and upgrades. Ensure the highest level of process compliance and accuracy are maintained for all activities. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration. Master's degree preferred. Minimum 7-10 years of strategic sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment Strong and effective interpersonal verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with employees, suppliers, and customers. Ability to learn, take direction, and adapt to changes. Team player with the ability to speak up as needed. Adaptable with a positive attitude Enjoys a challenge. Natural leader, both formally and informally whom teammates want to work with Ability to influence others and drive to company results without direct authority. Ability to connect the dots and understand/guide quality efforts to company objectives. Demonstrated ability to teach others and be a champion of change. Attention to detail. Technical capability/understanding to learn company's products. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Work primarily takes place in an office environment. However frequent visits to the manufacturing floor area are required. Exposure to traffic, dust, fumes, and loud noise that are routinely encountered in manufacturing plants. May encounter occasional stressful situations. Work may include responding to critical customer driven situations which may result in working some weekends, holidays, and after normal business hours.
