Experience and SkillsThe Buyer will be responsible for issuing, tracking and managing direct and indirect purchase orders to align with system loaded demand.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (additional duties may be assigned)

Monitor, document, and communicate supplier performance in the areas of quality, delivery and cost
Collaborate with Product Development, Demand Planning, and Vendors to ensure customer satisfactionTrack and monitor inventory; contract expiration, obsolescence, new and current inventoryMaintain MRP database informationSolicits quotes for Product DevelopmentDrive improvement projects and ideas to continue to eliminate waste throughout the supply chainNegotiate year over year cost savingsDevelop creative and innovative solutionsThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience: Four year degree preferred or comparable experience.
Two or more years of practical experience in the area of inventory management, supply chain management, and forecasting. This qualification is preferred but is not required to be considered for the position.Language Ability: Ability to write procedures documentation for the department, routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of DEMDACO.
Math Ability: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and algebraic fundamentals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Computer Skills: Competent with word processing software; spreadsheet software; internet software; and sales order processing/inventory/MRP/purchase order processing software and should have a good level of understanding of accounting systems.

Work Environment: Moderate noise level
