Summary: Responsible for procuring needed supplies, parts and services for the organization and supporting improvements to the company's supply chain functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Processes purchase orders in system for general maintenance of supplies and stock parts.
Places orders with suppliers / contractors and follows up on open purchase orders weekly to ensure deliveries are on schedule.
Works with Maintenance and Inventory Control to reorder items and maintains current supplier information in CMMS.
Obtains supplier RFQ's (request for quotes) as required.
Maintains various department excel files for both Wisconsin and West Virginia facilities.
Processes applicable forms for new suppliers and submits to Purchasing Manager for approval.
Administers Supplier Evaluation Surveys.
Provides backup support for metal purchasing.
Assists with inventory related audits.
Assists the Purchasing and Inventory Control areas with related miscellaneous duties.

Education/Experience: Associate's degree in supply chain management, logistics or materials management or a related field of study and one to three years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPIM (Certified Production Inventory Management) certification preferred.
Language Ability: Ability to readand interpret and interpret work instructions, purchase orders and shop paperwork. Ability to write business correspondence and shop documents. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers, vendors, and the general public.
Math Ability: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook). Previous experience working with manufacturing / operations software (ERP, MRP, CMMS, SAGE 50 preferred).
