With deep rooted knowledge in the design, development and operation of transformers, Weidmann is a leading integrated solutions provider for specialized product and services in the energy sector.*The role…*This position designs, develops, and oversees domestic and international supplier quality requirements and assists in the development of worldwide supplier strategies including the standardization of quality policies and procedures pertaining to third-party purchased goods.*How you'll make an impact…*
* Manage supplier performance metrics. Issue Supplier Corrective Action Reports or other performance improvement initiatives, and ensure these are being completed as planned.* Develop and implement plans to improve the performance of business-critical suppliers,* Lead teams in new supplier qualifications when a need has been identified. E.g. existing supplier replacement, low-cost sourcing, outsourcing opportunities, etc.* Conduct on-site/remote supplier audits to ensure the quality and performance of delivered materials.* Early Supplier Involvement. Coordinate with Engineering and Supply Chain Management to engage suppliers in design/process improvements in the concept phase of product development.
*What do you bring…*
* BS Degree in Engineering, Technology, or equivalent required; Quality preferred.* Minimum of 10 years of experience in working with suppliers in a manufacturing environment.* Specialized training in "lean manufacturing/lean enterprise/lean Six Sigma" concepts is a strong plus.* Must be able to demonstrate aptitude in data-driven problem-solving techniques. Skilled in root cause and failure Analysis diagnosis.* Must be able to analyze and present fact-based management reporting with recommendations.* Must have a detailed understanding of international quality/testing standards (ISO, IEC, ASTM, TAPPI, CE, etc.)
