Responsibilities
• Review medical history of medically complex patients and determine if medical consultation is required before treatment• Complete patient exams annually for patients undergoing clinical treatment• Conduct patient screenings for periodontal disease• Enter exam notes into patient's EagleSoft chart• Provide patient referrals• Authorize sealants and radiographs• Manage radiology log book• Evaluate radiographs assigned by you within 2 weeks• Review radiographs with students who require assistance• Provide direct supervision during anesthesia administration and Nitrous Oxide rotations• Assume responsibility for client management during medical emergencies• Provide palliative care for minor dental issues
Requirements
• DDS or DMD degree from an accredited institution• Five years experience as a practicing dentist• Valid Illinois Dentist License• Working knowledge of Associate Degree Dental Hygiene Program/Philosophy• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills• Effective interpersonal skills for interfacing with students and the general public• Proficiency in computer use and common instructional applications• Excellent analytical skills• Compliance with CODA
