PRIMARY OBJECTIVE(S) OF POSITION Provide coordination, planning, and supervision to assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities in all, or in a particular area of discipline, leading to successful construction project delivery. Develop and enhance customer relationships by providing excellent service.
SUMMARY OF EXPECTED OUTCOME(S) High quality, professional work product performed with initiative, productivity, a positive attitude and behavior. Performance should meet or exceed the established standards, goals, and accountabilities of the position.

KEY RESULT AREAS (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) A. Planning and implementation to ensure all materials, equipment, and inspections meet the project
schedule
1. Review construction documents for completeness and constructability
2. Review and understand contract documents
3. Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers, resolving discrepancies and issues within best interests of project.
4. Responsible for the development and management of a project schedule to include design, entitlement/permit, procurement, contracting and construction activities along with summary three and six week look ahead schedules, updated weekly prior to subcontractor coordination meetings. Superintendent has overall responsibility for meeting the schedule and ensuring regular updates are conducted accurately and at the frequency required, at least monthly updates to the CPM schedule.
5. Develop a site logistics plan and ensure the plan is enacted
6. Manage the utilization of GenCap tools and equipment
7. Collaborate with project partner superintendents
8. Ensure smooth daily site operation through critical planning and coordination
B. Coaching, supervisory, and development responsibilities
1. Conduct on-site project (safety) orientations
2. Conduct effective pre-construction planning sessions and project site meetings with support by Project Engineers (if applicable)
3. Supervise project partners, craft foremen, and crews
4. Interview, hire, transfer, and if needed terminate craft team members
5. Coach and mentor assistant superintendents, craft team members, and other project team members
6. Ensure proper task coding of work hours on timecards
7. Manage and track work progress and craft productivity
8. Manage craft team member training, ensuring they are current prior to starting task
9. Conduct career development discussions with foremen and craft team members
C. Other duties as assigned, including:
1. Provide high level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance for the project and team members
2. Recognize and mitigate unfavorable working conditions
3. Identify opportunities to improve processes and procedures
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY A. Lead team members by example in

B. Responsible for the mentoring, management, and timely performance evaluation of Assistant Superintendent(s), General Foremen, and Foremen

KEY SKILL REQUIREMENTS A. Proven ability to fulfill all responsibilities for multiple, complex projects
B. Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks
C. Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
D. Microsoft Office skills at an intermediate level
E. Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
F. Ability to interpret and communicate GenCap policies, roles and responsibilities
KEY SKILL PREFERENCES A. Open to change based on diverse input and feedback
B. Effectively work with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
C. Adaptive, effective communication and active listening skills
D. Strong cross-cultural relationship building and influencing at all organizational levels
E. Fluency in scheduling software (IE Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A. Associate's or bachelor's degree in construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or 10 years industry experience
B. Minimum eight years construction experience with two of those years having supervisory experience
C. Current driver's license

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS This position requires the following with or without an accommodation, sitting, walking, standing, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, hearing, and visual acuity. This person must be physically capable of reviewing a jobsite multiple times daily.
The working environments consist of exposure to dirt, heat, noise, dust, and outdoor weather; as well as indoor and climate-controlled settings.
Overnight travel of up to 100% may be necessary to fulfill the objectives of the position.
