Position Summary This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position starting at the beginning of the 2024/25 school year.
The MTSS Student Success Coordinator assists the building principal in the daily functions that are necessary to provide a safe and positive environment for students and staff. Provide support for school climate improvement and a positive approach to school-wide behavior in all 4J schools (K-12). The coordinator will work with school staff to establish a positive learning environment that promotes a high level of achievement for a diverse population of students. Provides consultation, training and support with design of interventions and coaching towards implementation of interventions for educators, staff, and families in order to effect positive behavioral change in students K-5. Complies with federal, state, county and district policies, regulations and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The below list of job duties and responsibilities is neither exclusive nor exhaustive. Employees in this position may perform some or all of the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned. Demonstrates understanding of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support and evidence-based interventions at each tier. Models and coaches teams/staff on effective intervention strategies at each tier to increase school engagement in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and multi-tiered systems (universal, targeted and intensive). Collaborates with district and school teams at each tier to provide ongoing professional development on culturally responsive, trauma-informed interventions and Universal supports. Participates on the Building MTSS Team. Assists with facilitation and coordination of Multi Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) for students with behavioral needs. Facilitates and monitors Tier 1 and Tier 2 behavior supports and interventions. Collaborates with multiple stakeholders in the design and implementation of Tier 3 behavior supports and interventions. Assists in the development and implementation of operational guidelines in the areas of building organization, student conduct, community involvement. Support students, teachers and staff in establishing a positive learning environment that promotes a high level of achievement for all students, while considering and celebrating the background and developmental level of the individual student. Oversee school teams' data tracking and use of resources related to their behavior and social-emotional program. Assist schools to generate reports that will be useful to team and staff decision-making in data meetings regarding student behavior. Maintain a strong connection to behavior support experts and specialists within district and partnering community organizations. Develops and manages a campus supervision plan and provides direction to campus supervision staff. Assists building principal in establishing and maintaining a positive school climate for students by providing professional development and coaching to all staff in universal SEL practices Coordinates, facilitates and implements disciplinary intervention steps, including Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS), Collaborative Problem-Solving (CPS), student safety plans, behavior intervention and de escalation plans including Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA), and process with staff, working closely with the principal. Leads the development of positive behavior supports systems and the development of intervention strategies including Universal SEL supports. Assist the principal and other staff in coordinating parent involvement and school-sponsored events. Acts in a supportive role with the principal in work with parents, teachers, and the community to promote the effective flow of communications and ensure positive relations with parents, business leaders and community members. Listens and responds to parent concerns with sensitivity. Conducts parent and student meetings and attends after-school activities. Supports teachers working with students that are exhibiting challenging behaviors. Assists with the development and implementation of student attendance procedures, monitoring, student management and conduct policies. Coordinates reporting and monitoring of student attendance. Facilitates and implements attendance intervention steps, including but not limited to holding attendance conferences, making home visits, and documenting actions. Communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with students, parents, and staff. Actively listen and confirm understanding of information exchanged. Participates in a variety of professional meetings, workshops and committees for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform the functions of the job and remaining knowledge with best practice and district guidelines. Coordinates the work of the Building Behavior Support Assistant. Attends and participates in the Professional Learning Community (PLC) for Student Success Coordinators. Attends and participates in site specific meetings, IEP meetings, 504 meetings and parent conferences (when appropriate) Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential records as required by federal and state law, district policy and administrative regulations. Follow district and school policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and guidelines, and the provisions of the contract and exercise professional judgment when acting in the absence of a covering guideline or policy. Maintains the integrity of confidential information relating to a student, family, colleague or district patron. Uses or relays personal information only in the course of performing assigned responsibilities and in the best interest of the individuals involved. Maintains positive and effective working relationships with department staff, students, school personnel and community members from diverse cultures or backgrounds. Maintains regular and prompt attendance. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education and Licensure:
• Bachelor's degree in Education or closely related field; and ,
• Valid Oregon teacher's license with appropriate grade level/subject endorsement. Experience:
• Four (4) years of classroom experience (preferred) reflecting the skills shown above and below.
• An equivalent combination of education and/or experience equaling seven (7) years will
be evaluated. However, there will be no substitution for licensure. Equivalency to the education and experience outlined above will also be considered:
