Store Inventory Analyst Location Salisbury, NC : Address: USA-NC-Salisbury-2110 Executive Drive Store Code: Retail/Dc Ops (5133508) Retail Business Services is the services company of leading grocery retail group Ahold Delhaize USA, currently providing services to five omnichannel grocery brands, including Food Lion, Giant Food, The GIANT Company, Hannaford and Stop & Shop.
Primary Purpose :The overall objective of this role is drive financial performance by providing research, analytics, and recommendations on complex business modeling, non-standard management reporting, and impacts of changing accounting principles to business leadership. Position requires vast expertise in multiple areas /disciplines both internal to finance as well as business partner functions and applies that expertise to the overall project/ function. As a contributing influencer of Margin performance via sales, vendor allowance and/or inventory performance, it is critical that the Analyst work with Category, Retail, Distribution, Pricing and Vendors to support the execution of comprehensive, cohesive, and well-integrated financial programs. They lead and research sales, inventory and margin/COGS issues and coordinate resources to bring resolution, create weekly and monthly scorecards and perform additional duties as needed Responsible for ensuring the accounting transactions required to adequately report and manage receivable and other revenue accounts are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Solves complex accounting, process, and system issues. Performs complex analysis and account reconciliations. Works with department staff to review current processes and makes recommendations for process improvements. Works with business partners to design and implement revenue and reimbursement programs which include process and system solutions. Responsible for various reports, KPIs, and metrics for the Accounts Receivable department. Responsible for conducting business in accordance with ADUSA policies and procedures as well as Accounting Standard Practices.
Duties and Responsibilities: Research, analyze, reconcile, audit, monitor, and summarize financial data such as inventory, margins, and shrink for use by management in making finance decisions and resolve accounting discrepancies. Identifies and assesses financial variances based on knowledge and expertise providing insight and advice for senior management and other end users regarding accounting issues that arise from reconciliation or reported financial results. Serves as a technical resource during internal and external audit processes. Interactions are internal and external to the company at all levels and pertain to project / functional activities. Independently gains cooperation and commitment through personal persuasiveness. Partner with Category Management, Supply Chain, Retail Services, Information Technology, Accounting, and all other business partners to identify and solve complex business issues. Prepare period close, analyze and review balance sheet accounts and re-class entries to support accurate financial results. Reconciliation of Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts. Great customer experiences are achieved by conducting detail research, training, and answering emails, phone calls, and requests. Analyst will work on special projects, issues, item set up issues, technical issues, and assist,with Ad Hoc Requests Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting or five (5)+ years in high volume Inventory Accounting experience in a fast pace dynamic environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to communicate to all levels of management and outside vendors Ability to multitask several projects Strong organizational skills Customer-centric Strong Analytical skills Demonstrated understanding of accounting theories, methodologies, principles and practices, and the impact of departmental transactions on financial statements Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point, experience with complex spreadsheets, including lookups, pivot tables, etc. Experience with account analysis, budgeting and forecasting Experience with or ability to use query tools for reporting Preferred Qualifications: General Accounting knowledge required Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel SAP S4/Hanna Must be able to work independently and as a team player. Strong oral and written communication skills; able to confidently and effectively communicate with both internal and external business partners, and all levels of management Strong analytical skills Ability to recognize and recommend changes within own work and assists others Business process improvement skills Strong organizational skills, ability to work on multiple tasks Able to sustain a high impact and fast moving department #LI-SF1 #IND #HYBRID
