Job DescriptionThis is a real and urgent opening with one of our great DC clients. They are currently working 2 days a week onsite/3 days remote. May from time to time be more or less onsite. Needs clean background for Public Trust, as well as up to date vaccinations. Position Title: Virtualization Storage Engineer Position Type: Contract to Hire Position Location: DC, Virginia, and Maryland US Citizen with clean background and vaccination required The Virtualization Storage Engineer will be responsible for providing backup, redundancy, and availability of the virtualized server environment.
Skills: 5+ years mixed systems engineering experience including the following:
Knowledge of Virtual Private Cloud environments (VPCs) Servers (Amazon Linux and Microsoft Windows) Amazon Machine Instances running in EC2 AWS RDS for MySQL and MS-SQL Server Simple Storage Services (S3), Amazon Glacier Storage for long-term archival storage, Identity Authentication Management including Windows Active Directory and ADFS, Google G Suite, VMware tools, Windows OS, Redhat, SQL 2016, Solarwinds, NetApp CloudSync, Lucid Charts (Account Management)Knowledge and experience of VMWare and vCenterExperience with Redhat/AmazonExperience with virtual storage devices, such as Veeam and NetBackupExperience using JAMF for remote lifecycle management (i.e., Groups, Policies, Configuration, Patches) of Apple devices (Macs and iOS)Experience using SolarwindsExperience with Enterprise backup solutions, tape robots and virtual tape solutionsScripting experienceAbility to create and/or update processes, complex diagrams (network or otherwise) using Lucid Charts or comparable applicationAbility to balance and prioritize workload and deadlines, and work independently and in a team environmentVMware Certification, such as VCP-DCV/DT, with strong experience implementing and troubleshooting VMware vSphere 5.x/6.x, or equivalent Job Detailsback to top Location Washington, DC, 20001, United States
