Job summary
This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation within the food and beverage division.The steward assists the kitchen department in deep cleaning of kitchens, food prep areas, and cooking equipment.The Omni Viking Lakes Hotel accommodates groups of all sizes with its robust meetings offerings and multiple food and beverage venues.

Responsibilities
• Promptly and carefully sort soiled ware for proper cleaning.• Wash and store all serving ware, cookware, and utensils.• Assist in deep cleaning of all kitchens, food prep areas, and cooking equipment.• Transport and clean cooking utensils and service ware as needed.• Maintain kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment in clean and orderly condition.• Sweep and mop floors, wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.• Separate and remove trash and garbage, steam-clean or hose-out garbage cans.• Wash pots, pans, trays, and dishes by hand or using dishwashing machine.• Put away stock, clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and area, and wash tile floors.• Report inventory and maintenance issues to supervisor, assist kitchen staff, attend meetings, and complete other assigned duties.
Requirements
• 2 years of previous kitchen experience required, fine dining or luxury hotel experience preferred.• Maintain cleanliness of work area at all times.• Strong customer service orientation and skills.• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.• Excellent safety and sanitation skills.• Ability and willingness to work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays.
