Job Description SummaryGE Vernova's Steam Power business provides a broad portfolio of technologies and services that help industrial and non-renewable energy power plants deliver reliable power as they transition to a lower carbon future.Job DescriptionAs a Steam Power Field Services & Technical Advising Specialist Intern/Co-Op, you will travel to customers sites and support them with installation, maintenance, and warranty work with industrial power generation equipment. This position will benefit from your technical skill in reading and interpreting electrical/mechanical flow and instrument diagrams, dial and laser alignment and thermal growth equipment as you will implement and execute the work under safety and environmental policies, serving as an example for others and providing full commitment in the deployment of the EHS Policies and any additional project-specific written statement or procedure.What success in the role looks like?An individual with a strong oral and written interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Someone who enjoys a learning environment, is open to shadowing Steam Power Field Engineers and taking daily work direction in support of GE Vernova's Steam Power business priorities.Who you are?Are you a quick learner who has the ability to be coached or mentored?Are you willing to train team members to impart and perpetuate field engineering and/or product knowledge?Are you committed to delivering with quality to customers while maintaining strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standards?Do you enjoy communicating with individuals at all levels, including customer's contractors to ensure installation work is done properly?Are you an individual who enjoys extensive travel to and from projects and various field assignments and is willing to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required?Responsibilities:Observe and participate Steam Power site activities geared towards learning steam turbine technology.Perform on-site installation of systems and equipment and ongoing preventive maintenance, repair and calibration after installation.Perform administrative functions such as: writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheet and expense sheets on a complete timely, and thorough basis.Successfully complete required Safety and Site Access trainingRequired Qualifications:Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering discipline as listed below:Following majors accepted:Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, Facilities, Energy Systems, or other related disciplineMust mainting a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding)Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process Must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process Must be 18 years of age or older Must be able to develop and maintain good customer relationships Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license Must be willing to work in geographical area specified by the business Must have the ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorshipTravel Is Required:Southeastern and Northeastern regions.Relocation Assistance:Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment.
