The stage manager functions under the supervision of and in coordination with the Production Manager. This position supervises stage-related activities for concert rehearsals and performances.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Builds solid, professional relationships with artists and clients. Provides immediate, friendly, and personalized service to enhance their experience.
Communicates with artists, clients and other staff members to ensure deadlines are met and tasks are completed to specifications. Addresses changes to schedule.
Creates Run of Show and distributes plans to stagehands/crew and venue management.
Coordinates stagehand/crew activities and assists with or supervises stage preparation including unloading, setup and positioning of concert stage elements, such as instruments, equipment and background sets (if applicable). Schedules load in / load out times.
Works with other venue management to address any health, safety, or logistical issues.
Ensures acts receive everything requested for backstage facilities, such as specific beverages or food. Sets up and maintains green room.
Escorts talent and crews to green rooms.
Supervises technical matters as necessary. Monitors lighting, speakers, microphones, and other equipment during rehearsals or live performances.
Supervises pre-show lamp, sound, rigging and other stage equipment tests.
Clears the stage prior to performance and advises the act when it's time to go onstage. Keeps talent and production staff on schedule.
Post-concert, supervises stage cleanup and loading/shipping of stage elements provided by the act.
Reviews emergency procedures and enforces rules and regulations designed to prevent security problems or safety hazards. Manages backstage security in coordination with security team.
Adheres to all company policies and procedures as established in the Staff Handbook.
The above-listed duties are not all inclusive. This position is expected to perform other work-related duties as assigned even though they may not be considered primary duties.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Experience Required:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, preferred
Past experience working in venues or small music clubs
Must pass a criminal background check

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high energy, and physically demanding environment.
Must be able to stand, walk, and reach for prolonged periods.
Must be able to push, pull and lift objects from a lower to higher position or move objects horizontally, from position to position.
Must be able to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing or crouching in narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.
Must be able to carry loads up to 50 pounds and exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently.
Will be required to use physical capabilities including climbing and ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.
Able to hear sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
Able to work in environment with moderate to high noise levels.
Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Able to work varied shifts, including evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
