What You'll DoThe Samsung Semiconductor Inc., Wireless Connectivity Software Engineering infrastructure, framework and protocol stack, that will help span the development. We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic engineers in the field of PHY/RF Software/Firmware. As a member of the WLAN and UWB Software team of various software modules for the PHY, MAC and RF of various WLAN chipset of WLAN (or 802.11) MAC protocols, UWB MAC protocols and framework, interfacing with various interface modules in HW. The candidate should exhibit strong technical leadership, with good communication skills. Location: Hybrid, working onsite at our San Jose Headquarters 3 days per week with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time.Job ID: 41921Radio and PHY bring up, RF calibrations, signal processing algorithm implementation and performance tuning.Debug real-time systems with limited visibility, working hands-on with development boards and lab equipment.Work closely with product S/W and manufacturing teams to provide system-level API and firmware functionality to meet end-user requirements.Collaborate with RF/Radio design, PHY and System engineering teams to architect, define and implement innovative algorithms, calibrations, and protocols.Support post-silicon bring up, validation, performance characterization, system integration and debug.Collaborate with wider teams to automate processes.What You BringBachelors with 10+ years of relevant industry experience, or Masters with 8+ years or PhD with 5+ years in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field preferred.Excellent coding skills in C and comfortable with at least one of the scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Tcl.Fluency in using lab equipment such as logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters etc.Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.WLAN/UWB standards, domain knowledge of Wi-Fi/UWB PHY/MAC Specifications.Experience implementing diagnostics, manufacturing tests, and protocol compliance software.Ability to debug issues with low-level embedded software.Some familiarity with common RF impairments encountered in wireless systems.Familiarity with modern WLAN specifications and protocols like 802.11be and WiFi7.Familiarity with modern UWB specifications and Wi-Fi protocols like 802.15.4z, FiRa, and DCK/CCC.Experience with and/or knowledge of Wi-Fi/UWB/BLE/GPS industry standards and regulatory requirements.#LI MS1
