Job Description SummaryThe Staff Engineer - Rotor Metallic Materials Operations will be responsible for the development, improvement, and execution of standard work, visual management, budget management, and operating cadences as well as the incorporation of FLIGHT DECK. This role will also take the lead on executing the management and tracking of the characterization of enhanced inspection indications.Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities :Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the development, improvement, and execution of operating rhythms to support Rotor Material Section KPIsOwn the management, tracking, and execution of enhanced inspection indication data gathering and characterizationIntegrate with key partners to identify appropriate prioritization of workBe the section strategy leader for the development of standard workIdentify gaps and create action plans to achieve KPIsCreate and train others to create visual management for technical programsUpdate metrics and reports weekly and provide analysis of trendsShare engineering information and promote open dialogueParticipate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiativesQualifications/Requirements :Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or related fieldMinimum of 8 years of experience in technical project management, operations, quality, material application, or material behavior work.Willingness and ability to travel, as requiredDesired Characteristics :Experience with GE Aerospace systems, quality, and engineeringDemonstrated systems level thinkingFamiliarity with aerospace or gas turbine industry manufacturing, quality systems and field support.Familiarity with primary processing (forge & heat treatment) of rotating part forgings.Familiarity with metallurgy, manufacturing processes and inspections such as forging, heat treatment, macroetch and blue etch anodize inspection etc.Strong oral and written communication skillsEffective problem identification and solution skillsProven analytical and organizational abilityStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsSelf-motivated and able to work independently and in teamsMust have ability to work successfully in a team environmentAbility to coordinate several projects simultaneouslyMust have desire to perform technical work#EMS#LI-JR1This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
