Staff Accountant (Tax)

We are partnered with a full-service Tax, Accounting and Planning Firm located in New York, NY; which is looking for a self-motivated professional to join their team as Staff Accountant. This is a hybrid position and our client offers a very competitive benefits package with a dynamic team.

Preparing and reviewing complex tax returns for corporations, partnerships, high net worth individuals, trusts, and tax-exempt entities Developing business and personal tax planning strategies Preparing financial statements, compilations, reviews, and audits Handling payroll tax preparation and review Reconciling clients' books and records with supporting documents Responding to federal, state, and local tax notices and assisting with audits and examinations Conducting research on federal, state, and international tax issues Providing expert tax advice to clients Identifying opportunities to offer additional services to clients Offering technical GAAP guidance and financial support to staff accountants Mentoring junior team members to help them grow in their roles Job Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in accounting and tax preparation with at least 1+ years in public accounting Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of federal and state tax returns Proficiency in QuickBooks and MS Office. Competency in Lacerte tax software a plus Deadline oriented with the ability to complete assigned tasks independently and in a team environment Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Regular and consistent attendance, OT may be required during peak periods Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 Depending on experience + competitive benefits
