Who You Are: You are responsible for preforming accounting- related duties on a professional level. This position carries out responsibilities related to audits, company credit cards, company taxes, accounting records and reporting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Prepare and review accounting records, including information needed to complete financial statements and other financial reports, to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards defined within the department.
· Assist in the preparation of various monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reports and payments, including but not limited to payroll taxes.
· Assesses, prepares, and tracks bonuses for employees in all communities.
· Assist in the year-end processing of 1099s, 940s, 941s, W2s, and state reporting for multiple entities
· Inputs year-end adjusting entries in coordination with the Controller
· Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
· Assist with special projects as assigned by the accounting manager and CFO
· Assist with community bookkeeping and other duties as assigned
Job Requirements: • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Deadline proficient and detail orientated with a high level of organizational skill.
• Self-motivated with the ability to time manage tasks, work with little supervision.
• A team player.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced high-volume environment and to perform a variety of tasks.
• Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Office programs - Word, Excel, Outlook and QuickBooks Pro.
• Understanding of, and some experience with, most or all of the core aspects of accounting processes and procedures
• Typing at 40 words per minute.
• Previous bookkeeping and customer service experience preferred.
• Must be able to handle up to four communities at any given time.
• Must be detail and team work oriented.
• Must be Drug free and submit to Urinary Analysis Drug screening upon hire and routinely.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check upon hire and as required by state regulations.
• The employee shall be responsible for maintaining the integrity of Koelsch Communities.
Uniform and Appearance Requirements: • Professional business attire including closed-toed shoes. Must abide by Koelsch Communities dress code policy.
Position Equipment: • This role is provided a laptop, monitors, and other desk/ office supplies needed.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
Special Demands: Must possess qualities of leadership, tact, and adaptability to change. Must be neat in appearance, possess a pleasant personality, be congenial with fellow employees and public, and must be capable of following oral and written instruction. Must display and use own good judgement and initiative in daily duties.
Overtime and weekend/holiday work required occasionally. In general, the workgroup avoids scheduled time off each calendar month the 1st through the 12th and during the second payroll processing of the 16th through the 22nd, however, exceptions are available upon discussion with the supervisor. Typical working schedule Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
