LHH is working with a company in the automotive industry that is seeking a Staff Accountant for their team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing various financial aspects, including accounts, finance reports, bookkeeping, payments, budget analysis, and tax-related responsibilities. Your responsibilities will extend to producing financial and accounting reports, collaborating with management teams on accounts, handling inventory tasks, and supporting the Accounting Manager or CFO as needed.
Job Responsibilities: Manage accounts, finance reports, and general bookkeeping, including payments, budget analysis, invoicing, and governmental reporting. Produce financial and accounting reports, documents, and files for the Accounting Manager or CFO. Perform various inventory-related tasks. Assist in the preparation of monthly commissions. Conduct general ledger account reconciliations, ensuring data accuracy and identifying and correcting errors made by internal and external personnel. Support timely monthly and year-end financial close, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and maintenance of operational management accounts. Provide schedules and commentary on operating maintenance accounts results, variances, working capital, and cash-flow reports. Maintain and update records and reports for profit and loss, taxes, liabilities, and assets. Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends. Monitor and suggest improvements for accounting reporting and recording procedures in assigned departments. Assist the Accounting Manager with special projects and tasks as required. Job Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance preferred. 2-4 years of professional accounting experience, with dealership experience required. Familiarity with accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures. Pursuit of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is a plus. Experience in audit accounting is a plus. Knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles in the U.S.) is a plus. Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Teams.
