Responsibilities
• Prepares interim and annual financial statements for the corporation and its entities.• Compiles, prepares, and posts monthly general journal entries and makes other adjustments as necessary to ensure the accuracy of the financial statements.• Reviews draft financial statements and trend reports of revenue and expenses.• Prepares and analyzes operating ledgers and financial reports.• Assists Accounting Manager and Corporate Controller with unusual trends or problem areas.• Assists the Financial Operations department in documenting and revising policies and procedures.• Provides accounting information and assistance to department staff and management.• Provides support to Financial Operations staff with research and document control.• Reports abnormal variances in account activity to the Accounting Manager and Corporate Controller.• Coordinates meetings and work groups with key members and assists department Directors, Managers, and staff in implementing action plans.• Works directly with Human Resources, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Business Intelligence, and Financial Planning as needed.• Prepares reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts, including corporate cash and investments.• Prepares bank and other account reconciliations on a monthly basis and analyzes as appropriate.• Prepares audit work papers and assists external auditors.• Assists in preparing Form 990 tax information returns.• Assists in the preparation of annual reporting for Medicare Cost Report, Uniform Accounting Report, finance-related surveys, etc.• Owns financial stewardship of one or more Northern Arizona Healthcare entities.• Performs various ad hoc projects/related duties.• Plays a key role in driving month-end close efficiencies.• Educates departments on cost accounting concepts and explains results on a frequent basis.• Follows compliance and safety policies and procedures.• Stays current with state and federal regulations and company policies.• Completes all required certifications, licenses, and training.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or Mathematics.• Minimum 3 years of Accounting/Finance experience.• Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills.• Experience with accounting systems administration (preferred).• Previous healthcare experience (preferred).• Experience working in an integrated care delivery system (IDS) (preferred).
