Vaco is working with an innovative manufacturing company looking for a talented upcoming staff accountant to join their team in Auburn, AL.
Job Summary
The Staff Accountant is responsible for the company's financial procedures, records, and statements. The Staff Accountant will execute month-end and year-end closings, bank reconciliations, general ledger reviews, and provide support in forecasting and budgeting.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supports monthly close process and ensures all necessary journal entries and transactions are entered and posted to the correct GL accounts Maintains chart of accounts Prepares detailed GL account analysis, schedules, and reconciliations on monthly basis Monthly bank reconciliations Prepare daily cash position Prepare journal entries for bi-weekly payroll and payroll analysis Prepare and process monthly sales tax return Fixed asset accounting including property tax returns Calculate monthly sales commissions Assist with annual financial audit including developing and maintaining audit schedules Invoicing to customers and follow up on collection Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures Required Skills/Abilities
Demonstrates a positive, proactive approach to problem solving and impediments Requires an understanding of GAAP, budgeting, and cost control principles Strong analytical skills Detail-oriented, accurate, and able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines SAP Business One software experience is a plus Education and Experience
