Job Summary: The Accounting Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities and other related financial activities. Duties/Responsibilities: Perform month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement analysis. Prepare and analyze financial reports to support management decision-making. Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures. Support external audit and tax preparation processes. Assist in preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports, including state and federal tax reporting; and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards. Perform technical accounting research and provide recommendations for proper accounting treatment. Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts. Mentor other accounting staff members and provide guidance on accounting principles and procedures. Assist in the implementation of accounting software systems and provide training to team members. Monitor, and assist with, accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed. Assist with accruals, and month-end and year-end closings. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Clear handwriting Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or related field Three to five years of related experience required. 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. CPA certification or CPA candidate preferred but not required. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at a time.
