Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant works under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer and supports the overall mission of the Finance/ Accounting Department. The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledgers for the El Pinto companies. This individual should be able to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining professional behavior and positive demeanor in a fast-paced, dynamic working environment. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES · Associate's degree in accounting, bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
· Minimum of 2+ years of experience in accounting or related field
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly strong in Excel
· Strong understanding of accounting principles and concepts
· Experience with accounting software; proficiency in Sage 50 and/or Dynamics 365 Business Central a plus
· High level of accuracy and attention to detail
· Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team.
· Strong organizational and communication skills
· Confidentiality and integrity
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS · Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
· Sufficient physical reflexes and personal mobility.
RESPONSIBILITIES · Post transactions to general ledger in accounting system
· Compile and organize financial documents and receipts.
· Assist with month-end close and preparation of financial statements.
· Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
· Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
· Assist Accounting Manager and CFO with special projects as needed.
· Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
· Work with accounting team to meet deadlines and accomplish goals.
