Position Summary:
We are seeking a Full-Time Senior Training Specialist / Instructor to join our team. As a key member, you will play a vital role in developing strategic policy documents and delivering impactful training sessions to a diverse audience across the United States.
Location:
This position is based in the National Capital Region, with regular work on client sites in Washington D.C.
Remote work from home is also part of the role when not on client sites.
Travel Requirements:
Occasional travel across the United States to client sites.
Work may include weekends or more than 40 hours per week.
Travel and related expenses are reimbursable per Federal Travel Regulations.
Essential Functions:
Collaborate on strategic and operational policy documents such as plans, concepts of operation, and directives.
Facilitate meetings and provide briefings to government staff.
Develop national and stakeholder-level policies and conduct training courses and workshops.
Design curriculum using proven instructional theories and the SMART method.
Deliver curriculum in classroom and virtual environments for federal and non-federal audiences.
Develop training materials suitable for senior officials' use.
Conduct needs analysis, focus groups, and evaluation activities.
Collect and analyze government mission resilience data at various levels.
Additional duties as assigned.
Current Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Proficiency in IT and document management tools.
Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational abilities.
Ability to work independently or in a team, meeting tight deadlines.
Flexibility and adaptability to change.
Excellent customer service skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
10+ years of emergency planning experience with a focus on governmental continuity of operations (COOP).
Reside in commuting distance of the National Capital Region.
Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
Master's Degree.
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
FEMA Master Continuity Practitioner, CES Level II.
