Position Title: Sr. Superintendent MaintenanceReports to: Maintenance & Electrical ManagerSite: Ray MinePOSITION OVERVIEWThe Sr. Superintendent is responsible for leading the maintenance and electrical departments in a controlled and stable manner whilst striving for continuous improvement and ensuring that the health and safety of employees and contractors are maintained. The position will oversee the General Maintenance Supervisors of each department and will report directly to the Maintenance & Electrical Manager.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:• Collaboration with operations personnel in the execution of maintenance activities in a manner that optimizing and maximizes the operational outputs.• Create a culture that strives for continuous improvement and implementing low-cost alternatives and solutions for maintenance and electrical activities.• Actively strive for improvements in tools, equipment, methods, and processes.• Balance maintenance and production requirements and work to achieve them by understanding risks and opportunities weighed against potential value.• Maintain equipment availability at or above target levels by demonstrating good technical expertise in cooperation with the other team members, identify faults and repetitive operation or production stoppages, and organizes information gathering and analysis sessions.• Support a Reliability Driven Maintenance culture.• Recommend and assist in the development of action plans to continuously improve the mechanical and electrical repair process and reliability.• Continually reinforce best safety practices and ensure that all aspects of the work meet all safety and environmental regulations.• Oversee safety & incident investigations; instigate reports and recommendations for the implementation of corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.• Oversee the coordination of repairs with equipment manufactures to ensure properly rebuilt components meet or exceed process requirements.• Substitutes for the Maintenance & Electrical Manager.KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES• Knowledge of mobile and fixed plant maintenance and electrical systems.• Strong leadership skills.• Ability to teach, develop, empower, and mentor.• Ability to read, understand and apply information from technical manuals, drawings, prints, and schematics for installation, troubleshooting and repair.• Ability to lead and complete job assignments in a timely manner.• Applicant must have effective written, visual, electronic, and verbal communication skills.• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety related instructions and procedures given in English.• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.• Ability to manage time effectively and set priorities.• Ability to manage multiple tasks.• Ability to think under stressful and adverse conditions.• Must have teamwork, problem solving and negotiation skills.• The physical requirements of the position are considered Heavy Work: Exerting up to 80 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.• The ability to work in conditions of extreme heat, extreme cold, vibration, chemicals including but not limited to airborne and/or skin exposure, high noise levels, confined spaces, and heights.• Ability to wear respirator in conditions of fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation.• Ability to ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding, stairs, ramps, and the like with agility.• Availability to work any shift, including weekends and holidays (shifts may be rotating). Mine operations are 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year).• Knowledge of SAP Plant Maintenance and Material Management• Knowledge of basic computer functions in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:• 10 years experience as a leader in fixed plant and mobile equipment maintenance.• Must have high school diploma or GED.• English language fluency.The Ray mine is located 64 miles southeast of Phoenix and 70 miles northeast of Tucson.
