The Senior Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with national and regional Pet Specialty Retailers and Distributors in the Central region. This role involves driving market strategies, increasing brand awareness, and growing sales and profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the pet food industry or consumer packaged goods, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in sales and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain relationships at the headquarter level with potential and existing national and regional Pet Specialty Retailers.
Build and maintain relationships with key Pet Specialty Distributors in the Western Region and train distributor sales teams to grow business
Drive market strategies and brand awareness to increase sales growth and profitability.
Close new sales by building rapport with potential accounts and identifying product and service needs.
Collaborate with the USA Sales team on new sales opportunities.
Negotiate profitable pricing and terms of sales.
Build and maintain a network of sources to identify new sales leads.
Provide and report sales forecasts, results, status of accounts, and leads for the region or division.
Analyze sales accounts by reviewing current and potential volumes of distributors within the defined area.
Manage and train regional sales team and Key Account Managers.
Manage expenses to stay within budgeted guidelines.
Stay up-to-date with competition by gathering and researching market trends.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics, ensuring compliance within the team and representing the company professionally.
Perform other additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Some college or a Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 6-10 years of experience in the pet food industry or consumer packaged goods environment preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to build and maintain business relationships with customers.
Willingness to travel daily or weekly, spending most of the day in a vehicle.
Proven negotiation skills and excellent sales and customer service abilities.
Unrestricted driver's license and a driving record with no more than three violations in the last two years and no more than one "at-fault" accident in the past three years.
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.
Ability to commute to the office.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
