ABOUT THE ROLE
Honeywell is currently recruiting for a
Sr HSE Engineer
to join the team in Baton Rouge, LA.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing HSE support for Performance Materials and Technologies Baton Rouge, LA facility, partnering with cross-functional facility teams and leaders. You will provide support to operational teams and conduct various Health, Safety, and Environmental related activities to ensure regulatory and company requirement compliance.
You will interact with employees and supervisors to coach on HSE issues. Influence plant personnel to improve HSE standards through use of standard work, Gembas, rapid problem solving, and visual management.
Key Responsibilities:
Implementation, monitoring and supporting plant HSE programs/policies to ensure compliance with applicable HS&E guidelines, regulations, permits and standards.
Conduct HSE field assessments and audits.
Assisting in the development of a Risk Management Plan.
Implementation, monitoring and supporting of site Environmental Programs Air, Radiation, Water, Waste, and Remediation.
Responsible for driving continuous improvement throughout the site location in support of Honeywell's Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems and Honeywell's Operating System related activities.
Influence positive HSE behaviors and demonstrate hazard recognition to improve the Health, Safety, and Environmental culture.
Able to move 35lb drums and endure physical requirements associated with HSE field activities.
YOU MUST HAVE
Minimum 5 years chemical / refinery work experience required, HSE experience preferred.
WE VALUE
College Degree (Bachelor or Associates).
HSE Certifications (CIH, RSO, CSP, CHMM, CET) highly desired.
Ability to organize data into meaningful information.
Effective communicator,
Comfortable dealing with conflict,
Able to work independently and in a team environment,
Some related experience in a similar working environment,
Comfortable intervening and coaching when necessary,
Ability & desire to implement change across multiple levels
PSM & Emergency Response Background strongly preferred.
