Join our team and discover your passion.Job DescriptionAHRC NYC is looking to hire a Fee for Service Speech Therapist for their BROOKLYN and DOWNTOWN MANHATTAN programs. The pay rate for this position is $45 per 30 minutes or $90 per hour.The Speech Therapist is responsible for the assessment, planning, and provision of speech and language rehabilitation services to people supported and works with individual/family to provide training and/or assistive devices to eliminate or reduce areas of deficit.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES§ Evaluates speech and language functioning to determine speech therapy needs and develops rehabilitation plan in accordance with the Physician/Nurse Practitioner order.§ Re-evaluates individuals' speech and language functioning to assess progress toward therapeutic goals and determines need for continuing treatment, according to Clinic specific policy and procedure guidelines. Adjusts treatment plan as necessary and in accordance with MD/NP order.§ Treats individuals with disabilities, disorders, and injuries related to speech and language functioning and requiring speech therapy, making use of therapeutic devices and other equipment to maintain or restore maximum performance of speech and language modalities.Completes required documentation paperwork in an accurate and timely manner. This includes working with assigned Treatment Coordinators to allow for:Submission of treatment plans in sufficient time for them to be reviewed and approved by authorized departmental reviewer/signature andSubmission of evaluations within 10 business days of the completion of the evaluation unless otherwise arranged with supervisor.Submission of Time Sheets and required documentation with each evaluation.Submission of Time Sheets and required documentation for treatment cases on at least a weekly basis.Interacts with individuals in legal and ethical manner.Other duties as assigned by supervisors.QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSMaster's degree in Speech and Language Pathology from accredited program.Minimum of one year Speech Therapy experience in health care setting/OPWDD experience.Current license in New York State as Speech and Language Pathologist.Completion of OSHA and other requirements mandated by NYS DOH and OPWDD.Strong effective verbal and written communication skills.Proven capacity to work productively in highly collaborative settings and to coordinate needs of multiple stakeholders.Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the medical community.Flexibility to operate in a rapidly changing work environment, with ability to adapt and be sensitive to organizational culture.Committed and collegial team worker.Strong commitment to the provision of quality clinical care for underserved individuals.Bilingual language skills highly desirable.Additional InformationBenefitsLow cost quality Medical InsurancePaid time off (sick, personal & vacation)Paid TrainingDental insuranceVision insuranceTuition ReimbursementReferral program403(b) retirement plan403(b) company matchLife insuranceEmployee discountHealth savings accountAHRC New York City is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
