Responsibilities
• Assist in planning preschool social skills/play groups throughout Trumbull, Mahoning, and Columbiana counties to aid in early intervention of sensory, fine motor, balance, handwriting, and spectrum disorders in preschool-aged children.• Work with the Program Manager to identify community partners to host play groups.• Assist in preparing materials, curriculum, and supplies for the program.• Conduct community outreach to educate parents on the benefits of the program.• Provide speech and language pathology services within an outpatient setting.• Complete evaluations establish goals for each client and initiate the treatment plan.• Collaborate with the client or designated family member to match the level of involvement in the Plan of Care.• Collaborate with other disciplines to provide an interdisciplinary treatment approach as deemed appropriate.• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of insurance coverage and limitations, adapt treatment plan accordingly, and communicate appropriate information to consumer and families.• Serve as an effective educator and mentor to clients, families, staff, clinical students, and the community.
Requirements
• Graduate of an accredited program with a degree in Speech and Language Pathology; current Ohio licensure or Conditional License by the Board of Speech and Language Pathologists; licensure in good standing.• Knowledge of information and techniques to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, congenital anomalies, and developmental delays.• Knowledge of human behavior, performance, and individual differences and cultures.• Knowledge of stages of development and age groups served, inclusive of infants, toddlers, children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and seniors.• Ability to interact positively and compassionately with consumers, co-workers, and representatives from the community.• Ability to establish appropriate treatment plans and implement age-appropriate treatment techniques.• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.• Ability to problem-solve issues.• Self-motivated and able to work independently.• Must be organized and able to handle multiple tasks.
