The Language Neuromodulation Lab in the department of Neurology is seeking a talented Speech Language Pathologist for an NIH-funded research project on the effects of tDCS in primary progressive aphasia (PPA) and Alzheimer's Disease (AD). The project is devoted to the study of language intervention(s) and neuroplasticity in neurodegenerative diseases and, in particular, PPA and AD. We use behavioral and neuromodulation intervention methods (e.g., tDCS) and we aim to understand their effectiveness and the brain mechanisms they involve using neuroimaging (MPRAGE, DTI, fMRI, resting-state fMRI, MRS).
Specific Duties & Responsibilities Deliver predetermined, computerized or behavioral and tDCS interventions in participants with PPA, administer standardized language and cognitive assessments. Use standard statistical packages to analyze data, present research at conferences, and write scientific papers. Assist with submissions of protocols to the IRB as needed. Supervise undergraduate students and work collaboratively with doctoral students, post-doctoral fellows and other faculty members of the Johns Hopkins community. Train in imaging analysis (structural gray and white matter, fMRI, EEG) Minimum Qualifications Master's or equivalent graduate Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. The successful applicant should be highly motivated, organized, personable, willing to learn, responsible, reliable, and efficient. Preferred Qualifications Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred. ASHA certification, and eligibility for Maryland state licensure preferred. Prior experience with people with aphasia preferred. Neuroimaging experience preferred. Classified Title: Speech Language Pathologist

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.
