Responsibilities
• Knows all functions of the SPT I role• Completes necessary training for Specimen Processing• Demonstrates proficiency in test ordering policy and specimen requirements• Meets productivity and quality standards• Solves complex problems• Completes required documentation• Understands the impact of Specimen Processing on the testing laboratory• Identifies and resolves issues with specimen types• Adheres to company policies and procedures• Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
• Minimum of 9 months experience as SPT I for internal candidates• Medical background preferred• Previous experience in a production environment preferred• Data entry skills of 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes/hour• Ability to work in a biohazard environment• Ability to sit or stand for long periods• Ability to handle multiple tasks• Effective communication skills• Maintains composure under pressure• Neat and clean work habits• Strong interpersonal skills• Flexibility and ability to adapt to change• High School Diploma or Equivalent
