General Summary: The Behavior Assessment Specialist (BAS) is responsible for assessing behaviors, identifying behavior intervention strategies and developing behavior plans to facilitate positive behavior change. The Behavior Assessment Specialist (BAS) is a program team member providing direct treatment services to children, youth and families, while implementing Intermountain Centers Behavior Consultation Services' applied behavioral program. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Conducts observation and identifies behaviors for intervention using behavior assessment tools. Develops behavior assessments (Functional Behavior Assessment) and analyses data to develop behavior plan, i.e., Antecedent/Behavior/Consequence (ABC). Supports parents, temporary caretakers and school staff, in working with children and youth in achieving positive behavior change. Provides direct services and skills training to children, youth and their families. Provides consultation to community and family teams regarding behavior intervention strategies. Provides training to family and community teams on how to implement teaching strategies outlined in behavioral plans. Maintains client files in accordance with requirements and contractual standards. Completes progress notes, using the appropriate codes, in Electronic Health Record (EHR) within 24 hours of service. Completes daily mileage logs and submit to supervisor for approval monthly. Maintains an approved schedule and acceptable level of attendance. Performs other duties as assigned or necessary as it relates to the general nature of the position. QUALIFICATIONS: Education – Master's degree in a field related to Behavioral Health preferred. Bachelor's degree in a field related to Behavioral Health required. Experience - One (1) year full-time direct applied experience working with individuals with challenging behaviors or applied behavior analysis experience preferred. Regulatory: Minimum 18 years of age. DPS Level I fingerprint clearance (must possess upon hire and maintain throughout employment). CPR, First Aid, AED certification, if required (must possess upon hire and maintain throughout employment). Current, valid Arizona Driver's License and 39-month Motor Vehicle Report and proof of vehicle registration liability insurance to meet insurance requirements, if required.
