Responsibilities
• Serves as the local school district representative at required IEP meetings• Fulfills all Roles & Responsibilities in the ODLSS Procedural Manual• Ensures compliance with IDEA and Section 504 timelines• Processes parental notices and consents for evaluations and placements• Sends draft IEP materials and evaluations to parents/guardians• Ensures interpreter is invited to all IEP and 504 conferences• Coordinates referrals for Full and Individual Evaluation (FIE) process• Convenes and chairs IEP and 504 conferences• Finalizes each student's IEP or 504 Plan in the SSM• Enters relevant student data into SSM• Arranges special education and related services for students• Consults with ODLSS District Representative• Oversees implementation of all IEPs and 504 Plans• Trains and supports school staff• Attends ODLSS professional development and meetings• Assists with programming students and scheduling paraprofessionals
Requirements
• PEL with one of the specific endorsements• Type 03 or Type 09 certificate with special education endorsement• Or Type 10 (special) endorsement• At least 2 years of case management experience
Key Skills Needed
• Licensed Special Education professional• Knowledge of IDEA and Section 504 requirements• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
