Responsibilities
• Working with students with disabilities• Collaborating with teacher(s) to implement care and assistance based on Individual Education Plans• Conveying messages according to student's language level• Assisting in communication throughout the school day• Working on academic, communication, social, and self-help skills• Providing instructional activities and reinforcement• Assisting with students' health needs• Assisting with personal care procedures• Completing other assignments as directed• Maintaining regular attendance
Requirements
• A positive attitude and willingness to meet the needs of all children• Ability to maintain confidentiality• CPR and first aid certification• Eligibility for or possession of a teaching license or Special Education Program Aide license #070• Knowledge of district and school policies and procedures• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written language form• Ability to read and interpret documents• Mathematical and reasoning abilities• Physical capabilities to perform duties• Drug-free workplace adherence
