Department Summary: The N112 Special Projects Department works as trusted advisors with its government sponsors across space warfighting, acquisition, and other mission partners as they architect system integration efforts to successfully incorporate new technologies and software applications in support of a resilient space enterprise infrastructure, sensing, and an integrated command & control (C2) system.
Additionally, N112 performs numerous sensing experiments and prototyping activities including class-leading modeling, simulation, and analysis capabilities designed to enable MITRE and sponsor-driven analysis and research in all space mission domains across multiple customers, missions, and technology providers. The research, development, and outcomes of these efforts provide high-quality, comprehensive, quantitative insights for senior government decision makers shaping the future of our nation's Space policy, operations, and systems.
Job Description: The technical work areas you will apply your skills to include:
Perform engineering duties in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment interacting with technical team members from multiple organizations while completing tasks on projects that solve crucial challenges faced by decision-makers. Perform analyses for assessing the utility and performance of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and space control sensors, Space Domain Awareness (SDA) enterprise-level architectures, SDA C2, and Space Battle Management Command, Control & Communications (BMC3) concepts and systems against sponsor requirements. Work on sensing experiments and prototyping activities including class-leading modeling, simulation, and analysis capabilities designed to enable MITRE and sponsor-driven analysis and research. Basic Qualifications: Typically requires less than 1 year of related experience with a related Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of related education and work experience. Experience using software languages and applications such as MATLAB, Python, and AFSIM Ability to develop and execute physics-based modeling/simulation to support critical analysis of live data and simulation results for recommendations and lessons learned Self-starter capable of working in a dynamic environment Demonstrated ability to complete tasks, drive projects to closure, and assimilate and correlate project information in a fast-paced environment Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to reach out to technical experts Excellent technical writing and presentation skills Strong motivation to expand knowledge and skills Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance. Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances. This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site Preferred Qualifications :
Demonstrated ability to learn and apply knowledge of a technical domain to modeling, simulation, and analysis, particularly in the Space domain to include astrodynamics, sensing, ISR, and C2. Prior experience with Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community, or space-related organizations in government, industry, and academia.
