You'll learn more about this during the recruitment process.JOB SUMMARY:The Sourcing Engineer will lead and execute difficult and unique Sourcing projects. This classification reviews a wide range of mechanical parts and assembly purchase requisitions including capital and expense items or services; investigates and develops sources of supplies, preparing bid specifications; issues bid requests and reviews quotations. This position will also require interpretation of drawings and technical specification purchasing procedures to departments and vendors. The Sourcing Engineer requires a high degree of technical knowledge based on sourcing category. They will work with key stakeholders to optimize the best value for Universal Parks & Resorts.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Partner with Engineering and Technical leads to develop new sources/suppliers for requested complex mechanical parts and assemblies. Facilitate the competitive bid process for all requisitions in accordance with company policies. Solicit price bids and proposals from qualified suppliers, conduct site walks/pre-bid meetings, assemble detailed evaluation of all proposals, and recommend suppliers for award, negotiate final prices, establish contracts, and arrange deliveries according to prescribed deadlines and timetables in conjunction with company financial goals.Generate and maintain the accuracy of purchase orders related to assigned technical categories in coordination with suppliers, manufactures, and other internal and external personnel.Research sources/suppliers for requested complex mechanical parts and assemblies, provides alternatives or substitutions when applicable, and assists internal requesters with select requirements. Gather/review requests in various formats including technical drawings or schematics.Interview sales representatives and research companies to develop new sources of supplies and to secure favorable technical and commercial terms for the Universal Orlando. Compiles metrics & KPI's for related areas. Maintain and update supplier database and completes necessary reports.Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.Performs other duties as assigned.EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required, Mechanical Engineering a plus.EXPERIENCE: 1+ year in sourcing and procuring highly specialized technical commodities, machined parts and other mechanical assemblies; or equivalent combination of education and experience.CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:CPM, CPSM (Preferred)Your talent, skills and experience will be rewarded with a competitive compensation package.Universal Orlando Resort.Here you can.Universal Orlando is an equal opportunity employer.
