Our menu is a carefully crafted fusion of traditional and innovative dishes, showcasing the richness of Southern culinary traditions. Position Overview:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate sommelier to join our team and elevate the dining experience for our guests. Your expertise in wine selection, pairing, and service will play a crucial role in enhancing our guests' overall satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Wine Selection: Carefully help our Lead Sommelier to create an extensive and diverse wine list that aligns with the restaurant's concept and cuisine. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging vineyards, and new releases to ensure the wine selection remains current and exciting. Pairing Expertise: Provide, with the guidance of our Lead Sommelier, wine pairings that enhance their dining experience. Collaborate with the culinary team to create suggested pairings for menu items and seasonal specials. Cellar Management: Maintain an organized and well-managed wine cellar, ensuring proper storage conditions and inventory control. Guest Interaction: Engage with guests to understand their preferences and provide personalized recommendations. Offer detailed descriptions of wines, regions, and varietals to enhance the overall guest experience. Vendor Relationships: Cultivate strong relationships with wine distributors and suppliers to ensure access to a diverse and high-quality selection. Negotiate favorable pricing and exclusive offerings when possible. Wine Service: Ensure impeccable wine service standards, including proper decanting, glassware selection, and temperature control. Oversee the handling of wine orders and maintain a high level of professionalism during service  Qualifications:
Certified Sommelier accreditation (Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET, or equivalent) is preferred. Proven experience as a sommelier in a reputable restaurant or hospitality setting. In-depth knowledge of global wine regions, varietals, and vintages. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with the culinary team and front-of-house staff. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
