POSITION SUMMARY:The person in this role is a primary contributor in providing software solutions including design, code, and testing for a variety of academic and non-academic application systems.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Interacts with end users for clarification of requirements as neededCoordinates with Business Analysts on requirements, designs, and testing related to assigned projectsRecommends software solutions for solving business needsAssists in the design, development, and support of various business software applications and integrationsWrites program specifications as needed from business requirements and converts designs and specifications into computer codeProvides unit and system level test planning, scripting and execution to validate solutionsSupplies documentation on code, procedures, and integrationsProvides technical assistance to inquiries regarding errors, problems or questions with programs and integrationsMaintains working knowledge of current technologies through peer interaction and independent studyProvides work estimates, schedules, and progress reports as neededOther duties as assigned by supervisorREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Working knowledge of object-oriented software technologyExcellent problem-solving skillsVery good communication skills: written and oralGood working experience with web and compiler-based programming tools that may include Java, JavaScript, PowerBuilder, HTML, CSS, Python, Django, Dynamics 365, BoomiA working knowledge of relational database interactions in the DB2 and MS SQL Server platformsAbility to work effectively in a project alongside team membersWilling to learn new skills and technologiesUnderstanding of the University's goals and objectives Required Education: Bachelors
