ThriftBooks is looking for a Software QA Analyst to help with testing of pre-release builds across our web and mobile platforms. This person will work in an open, collaborative environment with on our existing friendly, driven web development team.
WHAT YOU WILL DO Investigate and recreate reported defects Ensure that new features are built to specifications – including standards and compliance Devise and implement test strategies that adequately assess all software aspects Work with software engineers and the product owner to troubleshoot and resolve coding issues Track and document testing defects and resolutions Participate in the design and development for test automation and support WHAT SKILLS YOU NEED Detail oriented, organized Strong root-cause analysis skills Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues PREFERRED EXPERIENCE SQL and/or programming interest or experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Stability: We've been in business for 20 years. Technology : We are both a web company (thriftbooks.com), and a logistics company (managing millions of books in 5 distribution centers across the country). We sell in a market that is very competitive and we use technology as a competitive advantage. Flexibility : We have flexible work schedules and offer 3 weeks of annual paid vacation to start. We support full-time remote work or working from our office in the Seattle area. Organization : We've all been at companies where everything is a fire drill. ThriftBooks is not that company. Opportunities to Grow : We encourage learning. We give ourselves time (and resources) to take in-person or online classes or explore new technologies. That time is baked into every sprint. We try new ideas and we keep the ones that work. Software Process Maturity : We use Azure DevOps and Git to manage our work. We run on well-defined 2-week sprints. We focus on code coverage, build when we check in, and have automated releases for our applications. These are small things, but they matter. BASE SALARY $68,000 - $72,000/yr. This range reflects the good-faith hiring base salary range for this position. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications such as skills, experience, and education/training.
