About the Team Firebolt is a Cloud Native system, consisting of numerous components provisioning, orchestrating and exposing the unprecedented capabilities of our Analytical Database (Data Warehouse).
You will be working on the database itself - the Core Engine, which is written in modern C++, judiciously embracing the features of C++14/17/20 targeting the Linux platform.
What You'll Do: Take a key position in our R&D team Take part in the definition of our product design and architecture Design, build and maintain our cutting-edge database core engine Developing highly distributed, multithreaded, low latency core engine REQUIREMENTS About you: BSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience Fluency in modern C++ (C++11 and above) language, compilers, libraries, and patterns 3+ years of proven experience as a professional developer of production software 3+ years of experience working with C++ on a production software Familiarity with high performance, low latency, highly multithreaded development is an advantage Experience developing for Linux Excellent analytical skills A bonus if you have: Familiarity with OS internals, memory management, file systems Familiar with cloud infra development Familiarity with code profiling tools Familiarity with distributed computing, networking, lockless algorithms, and data structures Familiarity with Golang, python, and shell scripting Familiarity with one of the following: FoundationDB, Aerospike, or any high-performance KV-store Benefits of working as a Software Engineer in Seattle, WA:
