Responsibilities The Software Engineer's primary responsibility is to develop and maintain the hosted application for the education market. The Software Engineer wIll also have daily interaction with customer representatives to ensure product meets the customer's needs and is of the highest quality. This individual will be involved in implementing complex state customization for individualized education plans. This Individual wIll produce reports and other documents as required and ensure system documentation is kept up-to-date.
Application and System Development + Plans, develops, tests, and documents computer programs, applying knowledge of programming techniques and computer systems.
+ Converts functional specifications into technIcal specifications suitable for code development.
+ Develop, test, and implement software accordIng to specifications and industry best practices.
+ Work with Delivery Manager to evaluate user's requests for new or modified computer programs to determIne feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current system, and computer capabilities.
+ Follow coding and documentation standards. Participate in code review process.
+ Understand special education and response to intervention models.
+ Implement complex reports.
+ Implement complex interfaces.
Collaborate wIth End Users to Troubleshoot IT Questions and Generate Reports + Recreates steps taken by user to locate source problem and rewrites program to correct errors.
+ Analyzes, reviews, and alters program to increase operatIng efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
+ Provide technical assistance to Junior Programmers.
+ Capable to create complex, straightforward SQL queries.
