The Small Engine Technician will determine the extent of necessary repairs and performs service and mechanical malfunctions on push and riding lawnmowers, chain saws, tillers, weed eaters, and related power equipment in a timely manner.
Essential Duties and Other Responsibilities
Complete repairs for power equipment. Work with Parts Counter staff to determine the correct parts needed. Communicate product information clearly and effectively to customers. Assist with special orders for required parts as needed. Use ideal software to complete shop tickets. St up and assemble new equipment as needed. Maintain a neat, safe, and well-organized shop and storage area. Demonstrate safety compliance procedures such as wearing safety glasses and storing various fuels in clearly marked containers. Obtain and maintain required training available via FC Farm & Home and Vendor Web-Based training. Complete special projects directed by a member of management and additional responsibilities may be assigned throughout the store at any given time. Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality. Knowledge of machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Determine causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it. Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Ability to relate to all types of people and levels in and outside the organization.
